Terms and Conditions

1. General Information
These Terms and Conditions govern the contractual relationship between the student and SUNLIGHT LANGUAGE SCHOOL SL (hereinafter SUNLIGHT), owner of the website bcnsunlight.com and responsible for providing the language courses offered. SUNLIGHT LANGUAGE SCHOOL SL, CIF B72528805, is registered in the Commercial Registry and has its registered office in Spain.
Use of the website bcnsunlight.com and enrollment in courses imply full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
2. Purpose of the Contract
The purpose of the contract is the provision of educational services in the form of language courses, either on-site or online. SUNLIGHT provides language instruction and offers intensive, extensive, and specialized programs.
These Terms and Conditions form part of all agreements signed or accepted by the student when enrolling in a course with SUNLIGHT.
3. Applicable Legal Framework
These conditions are governed by:
• Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 of November 16 on Consumer and User Protection;
• Law 7/1998 of April 13 on General Contracting Conditions;
• the Spanish Civil Code;
• applicable education regulations and the current legal framework governing visas.
The contractual relationship is subject to these rules, as well as to the specific clauses of each course where applicable.
4. Enrollment and Payment Methods
To complete enrollment, the student must contact SUNLIGHT by email, phone, or in person and provide the necessary information: full name, identity document, requested course, weekly hours, start date, and duration.
Once the request has been received, SUNLIGHT will send written confirmation together with the invoice. Payment must be made before the start of the course. All bank charges shall be borne by the student.

After receiving payment, SUNLIGHT guarantees service provision in accordance with the conditions of the contract.
5. Course Delivery
Before the start of the course, the student may take a test to determine their level of language proficiency and be placed in a suitable group. The courses are designed to develop language skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
In long-term programs, textbooks and the necessary study materials are included in the course price. In short-term programs, the first textbook is included in the registration fee; subsequent textbooks and additional materials are purchased by the student as needed.
SUNLIGHT teachers have the necessary qualifications. If necessary, the school reserves the right to replace a teacher; such replacement shall not constitute grounds for making claims.
The class schedule may change for organizational reasons. Classes are not held on weekends or on national, regional and local holidays. During the Christmas and Easter holidays (Semana Santa), the school is closed, and these days are not rescheduled or compensated.
Upon completion of the course, the student may receive a certificate of successful course completion (certificado de aprovechamiento), provided that they have attended at least 80% of the classes.
6. Attendance, Public Holidays and Absences
If the student cannot attend a class and does not inform the school at least two days in advance, the missed classes cannot be made up.
Absences may only be made up when they are due to documented exceptional circumstances, such as sudden or serious illness, the death of a close family member, strikes, or other situations of comparable seriousness, or when the school itself cannot hold the class for internal reasons, such as teacher illness, technical issues, or maintenance work.
Missed classes that cannot be made up do not entitle the student to a refund. The student is responsible for catching up on missed content and may request guidance from their teacher.
If a group is reduced to five students or fewer, SUNLIGHT may reorganize it, assign the student to another group with the same schedule, or offer an alternative schedule. If no other suitable group is available, the student may wait for a group at their level to open.
The student may only attend classes during the paid period and may not extend, accumulate, or transfer hours after that period has ended.
7. Course cancellation
SUNLIGHT refunds payments in cases where the course is cancelled for reasons attributable to the school, as well as in other cases expressly provided for in the enrollment conditions.
If the student cancels the course for personal reasons or for reasons not attributable to SUNLIGHT, the amount paid is non-refundable. In exceptional cases and after reviewing the situation, SUNLIGHT may allow the amount paid to be credited toward a future course.
The conditions for course cancellation due to force majeure or other exceptional circumstances, as well as the possible refund conditions in such cases, are set out in detail in the student’s enrollment documents.
The sale, transfer or assignment of classes to third parties is not permitted. If SUNLIGHT detects misuse of identity or fraud, the school may cancel the registration and notify the competent authorities.
8. Visa policy and refunds
First student visa application
When submitting a first student visa application in the student’s country of origin or in another country outside Spain, the application must be submitted in good time, at least 62 days before the course start date, in compliance with all requirements of the competent authorities.
In the event of a visa refusal, the student is required to file the corresponding appeal within the established deadlines.
Renewal of the stay authorization from Spain
When applying to renew a stay authorization for study purposes from Spain, the application must be submitted within the deadlines established by law, in compliance with all requirements of the competent authorities.
Conditions in the event of refusal
The student is responsible for submitting the application on time and for complying with all requirements of the competent authorities, including submitting all necessary, valid and authentic documentation within the established deadlines.
The conditions applicable in the event of a refusal of the visa or renewal of the stay authorization, including the conditions and procedure for refunding payments, are set out in detail in the student’s enrollment documents.
9. Claims and Jurisdiction
Claims must be submitted in writing during the first week of the course or on the same day the incident occurs. SUNLIGHT will respond within a maximum of two business days, taking the necessary measures.
If an amicable solution is not reached, the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the competent Spanish courts corresponding to SUNLIGHT’s registered office, without prejudice to the consumer’s rights.
